As part of the ongoing dialogue about the residential liberal arts research university, the Commission on the Liberal Arts partnered with the Center for Faculty Development and Excellence to present a panel on several current initiatives within the professional schools, the health sciences, and Emory College of Arts and Sciences that focus on student and faculty mentorship. Panelists highlighted some of what we are currently doing, as well as provided ideas for enhancing mentorship inclusive across students, faculty and across units. Panelists spoke on topics that include integrating and enhancing fundamental liberal arts values such as critical thinking; civic, community, global engagement; and innovation into mentorship.
